Public Tours are scheduled Monday through Saturday at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 (with no 3:30 tours on Saturdays). These free tours are open to individual visitors as well as groups of fewer than 16 participants, and require no reservations or tickets. Groups of 16 to 60 participants may reserve private tours with advance notice by contacting the LOC’s Visitor Services Office. These tours are available only by reservation and on a first-come, first-served basis. The Group Tour schedule is Monday through Friday, at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 p.m. Please note: Because this is a lecture tour, it is not suitable for school groups younger than 5th grade.
National Cherry Blossom Festival

The blooming of the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. has come to symbolize the natural beauty of our nation's capital. The famous trees, a gift from Japan in 1912, typically bloom between March 15th and April 15th. Check the festival’s website for updated dates and events.

U.S. Botanic Garden

Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Groups of 10 - 25 visitors may reserve a free 45 minute guided tour of the Conservatory. These tours are offered Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and on weekends when space permits. The Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the Department of State, which are used for official functions hosted by the Secretary of State and other high level government officials, are open for pre-arranged tours at no charge. These rooms hold a premier collection of 18th century American furniture, paintings and decorative arts. This is a fine arts tour. We do not recommend the tour for children under the age of 12. Strollers are not permitted and there are no facilities for storage of personal belongings. Guided tours are given at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. The tour is 45 minutes in duration. Reservations are required. Tours of the Main Treasury Building are conducted on Saturdays only. Some of the tour’s highlights are of the Salmon Chase and Andrew Johnson Suites, the newly restored West dome and lobby, and the Cash Room. Please note that this is NOT the tour for seeing the production of United States currency notes. To see currency production, you will need to tour the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The name, date of birth, and social security number for each visitor must be provided when requesting a tour of the U.S. Department of Treasury. Please give Senator Lincoln’s office at least 2 weeks advance notice. Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is open to the public from 9:00 a.m .to 4:45 p.m. daily. Visitors can order advance tickets by calling 1-800-967-2283. Reservations may be made between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.. Visitors may also obtain free, same-day, timed tickets at the 15th Street kiosk. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:30 a.m. until all tickets for that day are gone.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing Tour
A limited number of Congressional tours may be arranged Monday through Friday at 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. for constituents interested in visiting the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). Tour groups are limited to 10 people. The BEP center is responsible for designing and manufacturing U.S. currency, postage stamps, Treasury notes, and other U.S. securities. Additionally, the BEP also offers tours Monday through Friday between 4:00 and 4:45 p.m. during the summer months (May through August).
